Chocolate mousse is made from chocolate. The mousse has a sweet, creamy taste of chocolate and whipped cream.

Chocolate mousse is a dessert that traditionally has at least chocolate and whipped egg whites. It can sometimes be embellished with egg yolks, sugar or whipped cream, spices or citrus peels.


Frozen Chocolate Mousse


Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate

  • 2 small eggs

  • 50g granulated sugar

  • 20cl fresh cream

  • 1 pinch of salt

How to do

  1. Melt the chopped chocolate in a small saucepan with some cream.

  2. Whip the rest of the whipped cream into a light whipped cream (not too thick) and set aside.

  3. Separate the whites from the egg yolks and beat the yolks with the sugar until the mixture is white and doubled in volume.

  4. Add melted chocolate and cream with a spatula (for me using a whisk) to the egg mixture.

  5. Beat the egg whites until stiff, add a pinch of salt and gently blend them into the chocolate mixture with a spatula.

  6. Pour into semi-spherical or silicone molds and refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

  7. When ready to serve, open the bomb mold and let thaw 1/4 of the way on a plate.

  8. Sprinkle bitter cocoa over the bombs and decorate with chocolate.
